if a motor with an efficiency of 60% has an input power of 12kw.the output power will be ?. could some body show me hoe to work this out please.

Is this not 60% of 12kw ie 7.2 kw

ie 12/100 * 60

or 12 * 0.6

 
mate - I'm not a spark but I think I'm right. If I;m wrong someone else will be along to correct me :)

To try and help:

60% is 6 tenths.

if 12KW motor, divide by ten

=1.2KW

then times 6 (six tenths)

=7.2KW (as posted by Mr Apache)

These "efficency" problems are really maths - standard percentages.

Forget the electrical connotations; just deal with the numbers m8.
