Hey guys,
I know there's been a recent thread regarding light bulbs blowing continuously but a job I've been on today took this a step further.
The customer needed some unrelated electrical jobs doing but whilst there he told me he's had a relatively long standing problem of bulbs blowing regularly and even sometimes exploding out of the fitting!!! I've never heard of that happening before. I carried out some electrical testing on the circuit wiring and all the results came back clear.
I also measured the supply voltage and it was 247V which I though could well be the reason but, when consulting the local electricity board, they said anything upto 253V is acceptable.
As suggested on a previous thread the bulbs could be an issue but I don't think that is the reason in this case as the customer has tried buying the dearer GLS bulbs in order to rectify the problem but it hasn't made any difference.
Has anyone come across exploding bulbs before??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as this is a fire hazard if i've ever seen one.
Cheers
