Hi everyone,

I want to install an internet router on the ground floor of my house but there are no sockets nearby that I can use where I want to install it and I'm thinking of using an extension lead for it. I just want to make sure this would actually work before I try it, any advice would be appreciated.

So this is adapter that I have:

And that's the extension lead that I'm thinking of using:

Would this work?

Many Thanks

Because it's more expensive and neater? I'm thinking to clip the ethernet cable together with the extension lead cable on the wall. I need about 10-15m of cable

I mean it's cheaper and neater to use the extension lead for the adapter from what I've seen

You may find that too long a flex on the 9v side, (and/or poor quality wire in a cheap e-bay lead), may affect the actual voltage that gets to your router....

And if the voltage reaching the router drops below the spec required then the route may throw a wobbler...

BUT...   also it may be ok..

For the price..   you may as well give it a go..

If it doesn't work...   Then you will need the Murdoch option..  13A extension lead!!

I don't think anyone here could say 100% if it will or wont work!
