havent used the stuff myself, but i think its similar to FP200. strip outer sheath, and terminate cores as normal. the earth core is in contact with the foil, and will earth that way

Interesting question ! Is it a substitute for SWA ? Can you bury it in the ground ? Is the outer sheath unaffected by sunlight ? Is it the same spec . as FP 200, presumably not if it was developed to counteract the use of RCDs on buried cables ?

not a substitue for SWA, but can be used in walls. dont think it cab be buried in ground. similar to FP but FP is only thin foil for interference, not to take a short circuit

Deja vu Deke?

Ask your wholesaler who the stockists are and what discounts are avaliable, make sure they do the clips and glands. It looks like a useful cable for outside work, I'd guess it will clip neatly.

FP 200 is limited over earth faults on compression, this I think is suited to partitions and substandard walls. The rating looks good.

If putting underground would put inside plastic conduit, for feed to shed only RCD protected.

Only my opinion.

This stuff is the same as Flexishield. Easy to use, quite expensive and is not a replacement for SWA. If you cut through it, it will blow a fuse or trip a RCD but has no mechanical strength. The foil wrap is in contact with the bare cpc and does not need to be terminated separately. Outdoors, a broken cable can be rejoined in a resin box by the joining three cables - forget the foil.

Great for protecting the DIYer from his/her enthusiam but then they have to get a spark in to completely rewire the leg of the circuit they have just destroyed.

Also good for cutting out buzz on your radio/hi-fi/etc. The foil makes a damn good screen! Might even help stop these new fangled lamps from glowing spontaneously.
