Extractor in window

Hi,

Going to look at a job Monday night which is fitting an extractor fan in a window.

Never done one before so was looking for any pointers. The hole is being cut by someone else so just fix fan and wire.

Any advice appreciated

had to wire one a few month ago. she didnt want the fan through the wall, so got a glazier to cut a hole in the window...

just to add to the challenge, the window also opened. so flex down wall in trunking, nice loop to allow window to open without stretching wire, and then into fan. i also used a cable tie mount in the trunking on both ends of the window to 'fix' cable, so it couldnt be pulled either side

You may need someone outside to help assemble the fan into the hole. Finish wiring at some sort of box and change to flex to the fan. Backdraught shutter needed.

I normally give the fan to the glazier so they cut the right size hole!
