Hi guys,

New and learning so go easy lol

I’m trying to figure out how to install an energy meter on some equipment. Reading instructions it mentions using a lower rated mcb to install the meter and so you don’t have to isolate the entire plant.

However, I’m lost on part. I have wired from the main isolator where the supply is as per picture below but I’m missing something I’m sure lol

Thanks all. I think the problem I have is it mentions to install an mcb to lower the voltage to the meter and be able to isolate it without having to turn off the equipment.

So basically I need to go from the mains isolator to the energy meter inputs, then connect the equipment to the meter outputs?

Presumably the equipment already has an mcb to protect the feed to it, and possibly an isolator already?  If not is SHOULD have.

So if those are there already, just insert the meter between the mcb protected supply and the equipment.

Dave

Yes has an mcb supplying the unit, unit itself has a rotary iso.

Great I’ll rewire it to have metering device after iso.

thanks again
