Finding a meter

I have an interest in a block of 9 flats in Coventry where we are being billed for a meter that we cannot find. There are 2 meters on the one bill but we only pay 1 Standing Charge which feels odd. BG insist it is located in the building and that we should conduct a 'Trace & Label' test.

So far, I have yet to find anyone who has heard of that test. Any offers/thoughts?

That’s because there is no such test!!
How many meters have you found in the block?, I’d suspect that there should be 10 in total? 9 flats and 1 landlords.

You suspect correctly. That no such test exists is the response I am getting form electricians I contact. All are happy to offer T&M exploratory work oddly enough.

Looks like we simply instruct BG to disconnect the service and see who complains. We will of course notify everyone of this in advance.

Well,unless it's a smart meter I would be interested to see how they do it! Unless they can disconnect a meter without accessing it, ZEN and the art of metering? TANTRIC Metering?

How are they billing you for a meter they cannot read??

Sounds like you may have had an off peak supply at some time, that may have been removed, but records not updated?
