Fire Breaks in lofts

terraced houses sometimes have shared loft spaces

is there a building reg that says these spaces should isolated ????

and if not is there a requirement for a heat sensor in the space.

cant find any info in the building regs

help me out if you can

(did you get me Thunder yesterday m8....

if yes.. did it scare the pigs???)

I think there is some sort of guidance or reg that says these areas should be sealed up...... :)

But I cant quote anything... :(

May be something in Approved document B "Fire Safety"??

All I do know is I have worked on numerous old properties, terrace & semi-detached.. re-wire cus of new occupancy..

and builders been there, as it was been a condition of the mortgage to have the bit of wall in the loft built up to full height of the roof!

I think it may also have implications on the passage of sound between properties as well..

However..

this may be one of those... NOT RETROSPECTIVE jobbies!??? ?:| :|

So only done on new work.. or as the condition of something else??

didnt get the thunder,,pigs were well happy

i thought it might have been picked up on the survey but apparently not

this is the kitchen nightmare place

only went in the loft to fix r2 problems,,, more twisted cables :_|

i will pass it on to the landord,,upto him.

who i now find out asked the albanians to do the work justice !!!!!!!

Just gone through parts B and E; as well as the NIC technical manual; and cannot find a single reference to this. Sorry m8
spose the thing is..

It isn't an electrical related issue?

but I am dam sure you should avoid smoke from one property seeping into next door???
