I was under the impression that all test leads had to be GS 38 compliant.

but having looked at fluke website and various others there seem to be mant different 4mm test lead kits.

Can someone tell me what meters can be used with unfused leads.

I would presume that all live testing would require fused,,, what about continuity and IR? etc?

You don't require fused leads for ELV.

You only really need them when testing 230V live.

Thanks Spin!

Does this mean I can replace my Robin continuity and IR tester leads with unfused leads and croc clips?

If you want. I use insulated Croc clips, that just push on to the probes.

You shpuld of course always maintain your tool, and ensure there are no breaks in the leads insulation.

Ok guys

I'm no less confused, as the regulatory requirements and common sense are not always compatible! headbang

What do you call a standard test lead?

Get your leads from your multimeter and your installation tester and compare. Mine are basically, as you say, the same bar uninsulated probes and no fuses on the multimeter ones.
