Hi ive just had a phonecall and email from a company called Scemes Ltd trying to sell me space in a handbook called Headteachers and bursers handbook of procurement . This will allow me to tender for work in schools an colleges, so they tell me, and i just wondered if anyone has heard of them at all and if it is a scam or not.They want

I work in a school and part of my job role is tendering for contracts and i've never seen a book like this. I know they exist but they are only any good if they are adopted by a local authority.

Most mailshots of this type will end up in the recycling.

You can approach your local authority if you really want to work in schools and ask them about getting on their approved contractors list.

To work on Local Authority contracts you need to be CHAS Registered.

Have heard of this sort of thing before, nearly signed up for it.

Its basically glorified junk mail, dont bother.

Thanks for the replies . I thought it was probably one of these handbooks that you never actually see, so i wont be bothering with it . many thanks.
