Hi

I need to replace a hardwired built in oven with a new one. Is this something I could do myself as money is tight.

Regards

Mark

these are nice and easy to do, but kitchens come under notifable part p, so it needs to be signed off and certificated etc... unless you can wait unit April when part p all changes and it will not need to be signed off....

Replacement of an oven is not notifiable.  I know people that can not change a light bulb, or  hammer a nail into a piece of wood so no one here can say if your compedant to change an oven. I would rate it 2 out of 10, 10 being most difficult.

If its a single oven then you may find its just plugged in.  A local sparky will probably charge you around £40 to change.

furry muff, usually takes me about 20-40mins

London is always dearer.

I had a call from a regular customer to replace a plug on an oven, service engineer had arrived to fix the fridge and noticed the oven plug had overheated( single 2.4kw oven) could I come and replace it, explained I was 20 miles away she said no worries Il get him to replace it, called me later to say he invoiced her £90.00 for doing it .....sheer robbery
