Did anyone else notice this news item about damage caused by a dodgy e-scooter charger?

I hope I am wrong..
But I do fear electric related faults causing significant property damage will be on the increase as we push toward a "cleaner" "greener" energy source?

There was a time when only Gas faults could cause explosions. (Electricity was just fires).

Some poor innocent persons maybe trying to travel locally in a more environmentally friendly, cost effective way...
Buys an e-bike / e-scooter with a non-manufactures spec charger, completely unaware of the potential dangers of incorrect charging..

Should these potential problems be given greater public awareness via the media?
as it is hardly a new problem?

https://rechargedcommute.com/electr...,and damaging them can cause an explosion too.

Not new but bound to increase, plus news reporting does tend to work in 'trends' ie one e-scooter fire gets reported, then they seem to go looking for more of them.

The only real way of stopping this issue is more public education and possibly some legislation on cheap chinese products. It's not hard to eliminate most of the risk through good engineering.
