heights of switches

does anyone know the minimum and maximum height levels of switches?I was working on a site where it was 1200mil to top of switch could you write back with is it to top of switch or bottom of switch thanks ryan

 
is that the only height switches can go at though 1.2 to top of switch can they go higher up? what is the maximum height?

If its new build 1200mm to the top is max. If its rewire existing height can be used which would more than likely be 1400mm

 
Just beware that the 450-1200 measurement is "above finished floor level"

this isn't a problem with switches, but you could get caught out with sockets etc..

and those heights are for new builds ----- extensions, rewires and additions are to "be no worse than existing" in regard to these heights
