Hi
I have purchased a Hawk alarm and fitted all wires apart from the one central locking wire. I have purchased the Haynes wiring diagrams also but just need an expert to tell me the wire colour please for the one central locking wire that connects to the alarm. I attach the wiring diagrams I have bought.
Thanks

It's a case of, "further information needed."   What does the alarm need to see?  Maybe a twelve volt pulse as the locks are activated?  Or is it when they are de-activated?    Or ???

If a lock or unlock signal is needed, you just need to sort out which side of the door locks, which all appear to be in parallel, is then the +ve side and then choose one that you can physically access most easily.

So far as I can see there is nothing in those diagrams to tell you whether the C11, (grey) or A7 (yellow)  goes positive to lock, or which to unlock. My way to resolve that would be to connect a meter and operate the locking system.

Thanks for getting back to me. I got a meter to the 2 wires going to the lock: one pulses 12V when unlocking and the other wire pulses 12V when locking.

Can't understand how the Hawk alarm only has i connection wire to the central locking, Hawk confirmed that this is right.

I can't help you....

But I do know with some vehicle manufactures..

The actual colours used don't always exactly match the colours on formal diagrams..

I had a some wiring issues around 3years+ ago, when installing a new tow-bar & electrics on our car...

Had to phone the tow-bar electrics supplier support line..

Who stated that some, "French", vehicle manufactures can sometimes use whatever cables are available..

if the actual correct colour wiring has run out!!

So as there are no legal obligations to comply with any specific wiring colour codes....

With some manufactures..  the actual colours may not be what you expect!!

[ I don't know if VW fall within this category..    But it is a point worth remembering. ]

It depends how the alarm works and what the alarm is intended to do.

Is it just monitoring the car's lock or unlock commands, (as suggested maybe the case in my initial answer) or is it commanding the locking system?

If it is a command signal I would be reluctant to connect it without being 100% sure as you could do expensive damage to your car and probably the alarm too.

I doubt if anyone here can advise you from the available information. I fit were mine I would be approaching an auto electrician or maybe a VW specialist.
