I think I am a bit of a tech head purely from experience, but have to admit I am relatively a tadpole -neigh ameba when it comes to electronic circuits and such. barley know how to use a digital multimetre etc.
Gusto spirit = I can do it attitude given sufficient info etc.
Anyway ME: I have rebuilt engines, fitted kitchens/bathrooms and most DIY stuff etc, Professional career was designing large blue chip data and voice network infrastructure, and designing proper service aspects to the above. Prior life I had a company doing bespoke computers and solutions and in so much: comfortable with reprograminging eproms and the like and basic soldering.
BUT...Dont know why a capacitor here or resistor there apart from perhaps' profiling, structuring, smoothing AC to DC current etc.i.e clueless.
So as to joining this forum; Dont want to spend £££ to replace a board when pence will fix it. And further would like to know more of this black art etc.
Question 1:
Cheapo 32" LCD TV. went bang, power board showed burnt resistor. PCB unit is common - 17w25-4. There is very little schematic info of the web for this. 2 showed either 1K or 10K and another showed OR22 i,e 22Ohms but what voltage. Any clues?
Question 2:
Peoguet 306 mk1 1.9 diesel. Understand earthing issues are common i.e passenger window not working - could be door coupler or wires within but heard could be earth behind centre consol..... again any clues?
