One of my dogs is a 3 year old choccy lab. She seems to have 2 'seasons' a year and not always around the same kind of time each year. I haven't gotten round to having her spayed yet but wonder if this is normal as I read somewhere that larger breed dogs can sometimes have 2 seasons a year?

Fear not! A ***** is supposed to come into season roughly every 6 months! There is a little variability between bitches but 5-8 months wouldn't be abnormal.

Note when the last season was and we aim to spay 3 months after the last season (see here)

I absolutely Love Labs - Have only ever had two from a Child (me - before the sarcasticness comes in from someone) - upto early adulthood.

I have promised my Wife and Children that I will get them one.

I have a friend who is a vet too.

And I am going to try and persuade him to come to South Wales on a family holiday.

Then, I am going to kidnap him, tie him up, throw him in the boot of my car and take him to look at a few Labrador puppies with me.

Most vets, on the whole, are quite decent people and would likely help you without the kidnapping!

:D

PMSL - Aww Bless.

I wouldn't have said Most Vets though Patch.
