They say the recession is over and things are getting better .

Has anyone actually seen this is true ?.

After losing my job October 2008 , there is still no differance here in the job market lots of teaching job lots of office jobs but nothing for a man that does not mind going home dirty and certainly nothing for trainees or mates.

my work has been picking up.

this recession has clenched everyones fist up, but some people are better off, prices have droped, intrest rates on mortgage have droped for the lucky ones (me included)

teachers and police as such still earning the same money with job security.

people affected like trades, and some buisnesses have suffered as people are reluctent to spend

*checks wallet*

Nope, not over yet.

We had a bit of a delayed entry to the recession so may have a delayed exit, although dunno, hard to tell. A lot of our work was large commercial projects so budgets and monies had been allocated, we never saw the recession really when it started. As these contracts have ended then new ones aren;t being set up as swiftly as they would have been before the recession so really the recession is just starting for a lot of people doing this sort of work. Several of the companies we were involved with have gone bump, and others we stopped working for as signs of them not being able to pay were showing.

If the internet jobs boards are anything to go by there is a definite increase in advertised vacancies since mid. Jan. I've got 3 job interviews in 8 days starting from next week all electrical industry related. If people are recruiting, business must be improving for electrical manufacturers & suppliers created by demand from the wholesalers & their customer base i.e. you guys.

The politicians say we are out of recession so it must be true . Musn't it ??? They would never lie to us. Would they ???

On a personal basis the year started with a busy period of two weeks, second fixed a job thats been going slowly , but the phone is not ringing now.

I'm deffo busier than last year but I don't think its cus the recession is over and more to do with me improving my contacts and chasing more leads. A little bit of luck too.

Then again I did only work 3 days last February so if I wasn't busier I'd be in serious trouble

I'm employed and salaried. TBH I haven't noticed the rescission only I am irritated by the stupidly low interest rates. The little bit I have in the bank is doing nothing, and my mortgage is fixed!

Get them back up to 5% ASAP!

I'm kinda with the vet on this one. Until my fixed rate runs out and that hopefully will be soon.

mine traks at i think 1.25 (might be lower) above the base rate, down and stay down

:D
