Is this overheating?

Quick question,

Is this due to overheating - stripped it out a while ago but never got round to asking.

It is caused by heat but not necessarily over heating.

Ah, good point. Thought so, but never seen it before.

This came from a stripped out supply that had overloaded severely in the past.

Often come across this where there has been a poor or loose connection sometimes referred to as a 'high resistant joint'.
