I am trying to find a suitable isolation unit, as i need to install a second CU on the other side of someones house. the run is about 25m in 16mm swa. I want to come out of the henny block located next to the incoming supply.

the isolation unit feed will be a 20mm swa gland , and normal tails coming in. i have been thinking about using a metal enclosure unit, but worried about eddy currents caused by the two single tails, even though i will be using 20mm stuffing glands..

it needs a 100A isolation switch.

eddy currents only an issue if they go through separate holes

if your that worried about eddy current on a switch fuse, then you should be a lot more worried about that bit of SWA you plan on using....

It needs to be fused also. As for eddy currents in metal enclosure, either pass both tails through same hole, cut an oval shape or drill two holes with gromitts but join them together with a saw cut . The DNO's 100A fuse is really only for short tails local to the mains.

the swa will be going through one hole, its just the tails that i am thinking about. if u use a plastic enclosure, the tails can easily be incerted, but if i use a metal enclosure i do not have the luxury of both tails going through the same hole

Ive done this, use a metal adaptable box and cut a 20mm slot along one side(I drilled two 20mm holes and cut between them), grommet strip this,

butt two ISCOs/Henley blocks tight against the box, I'll take a pic in a mo.
