not been a JiB employee for along time and wanted to catch up on how and what is paid.

inparticular travel time and exs's

now normally non jib this is how i think, i'd get **p/mile and then traveltime ie. if i drive for 1 hour to the job (60 miles)and 1 hour back i get paid 2hrs at my rate plus what ever hours i do on site plus the **p/mile. approx

 
so for those 2 hours of travel (60 miles x 2) 2 x 13.08 + 10.67 + 10.67

No, you get the 10.67 + 10.67, and all the hours you work at the job at 13.08.

You don't get the allowance and your 1 hour travelling, thats what the allowance is.

Example

You have to work 60miles from home for 3 days and are expected to be there at starting time each day, you would get

 
The jib is not there for your benefit and was setup to harmonise wages between companys and to keep wages uniform(read that as low). Call me cynical but the only thing the jib ever did for the common electrician was to weed out the chancers, shame they never stuck to it though.

 
Hi, Lostit, you can see the latest JIB wage agreements on their website.

I agree with Paulh, they kept our wages down, although it seemed to stop employers paying below the rate.
