Hi all,

Not sure if any of you use or work with / on AKW products, if not then they are a company in Droitwich (West Mids) and they specialise in adaptive shower trays, pumps, showers etc..

Well went out to a fault with a pump today (well blockage there equipment is very good) and saw there latest medi care shower unit.

V nice...

Cheers

Ash

Posh maybe

BUT most people that want a "medi care" shower are unlikely to be the sharpest pin in the box.

they will be expecting a nice simple to use shower, with an on off switch, and a temperature dial. Nothing more.

That fancy thing with flashing lights and touch sensitive buttons, and not necessarily intuitive icons on each button, would probably confuse the hell out of me, let alone your average elderly care resident.

To me it looks  like a triumph of form over function.

I do the odd adapt Dave, and they mostly still just have a temp dial,

on commissioning them the temp gets 'locked' so no matter how far you turn the dial it still only reaches a certain temp,

the other make I fit has simple up and down buttons with a large LED display that wont go past 5 [once commissioned], but there is a form of temporary over-ride on them by pushing a combination of buttons together.

both, nice, simple easy to use showers, in fact I have one of the latter type in my own house,  :)
