Sometimes get asked by relatives and friends to change a cooker element or a tumble drier element or a lamp in a fridge .

mostly jobs they could do themselves given the right information.

Most appliance manufactures either have their own spare parts websites or another business that does it on their behalf.

These sort of queries are probably best checked out with manufactures..

e.g.

about a year ago I had to get a new part for my in-laws NEFF oven...

I was amazed at the spares website..

selected the model number then..

had about six pages of exploded-view drawings with all parts numbed..

you just clicked on the part.. it gave the price and onto ordering!

couldn't fault it:D:D

had some similar info of an AEG website..

not sure though would warrant a whole sub forum??

because 'you R da Man!'..

and they like you...

and trust you.???? :D

Actually just to show there are the occasional on the ball bods out there..

one of my customers are a couple who must both be in their mid 60's..

to see them in the street you would think look at them old fools!..

but they would be in that category called "Silver Surfers"..

When they need work done they drop me an e-mail..

and the last but one job I did for them was on their stand-alone electric cooker..

(traditional oven/hob/eye level grill job)...

The e-mail they sent was something along the lines off:-

Hi

one of the electric rings has gone on the cooker..

we have found a part No on the Internet,

and ordered one..

when it comes can you pop over and install it please?

Always makes me & the wife laugh cuz you would never think they would be so on the ball and in touch with using the Internet.!!!

but as you say for every 1 on the ball there are probably 50+ numpty's!! :(
