A Landrover remains the only car I ever bought, and then sold 2 years later for no loss (some 30 years ago) , and my present one is already worth more than I paid for it.

I know it's not a Defender,,, but I once made a profit on a Nissan Micra (old shape) after owning it for 2 years

LOL... no, not the scrap man,,, just bought it very cheap £80 with a short MOT and wouldn't go into reverse.. It had a worn gear selector mech (lever to g'box),, I picked up a replacement from a scrap yard for £5... IIRC we sold the car for £100 2 years on
