guys

Ive dropped a bollock. I have put led lighting in my patio but the kit i bought from collingwood came with a reel of black cable for extending the wires. the lights are wired in series and cemented in.

I extended the cables in flex conduit back to were the shed was going. this was all done last summer and i now have the shed.

my problem is my memorys crap and as both wires are black i marked one up which i think is the + but i used blue tape so im not sure if its the - now.

if i get wrong polarity on a series circuit will it damage the leds??

thanks

If my rusty electronic theory is correct, a diode will only conduct in one direction. If you use a continuity tester, I'm thinking it will read ok in one direction and won't read in the other.

With positive lead of meter on (suspected) + wire and negative lead on (suspected) - wire it will conduct and give a reading. If meter shows open circuit or no continuity, you've got it connected the wrong way round.

Feel free to call me a pillock if I'm wrong.

Biggs
