Never had much to do with testing satellite equipment, though i've wired and distributed several systems throughout my past properties and for friends...

I've just re-instated a local satellite dish and system, and getting no signal to the set top sat box. Is there an easy way of testing the LNB to find out if it needs binning or not. The system works for the Nile Sat 101/102 satellite.

The LNB is a single output 3dB unit, cant read the Frequency bands on it, as the sun has faded them into obscurity but it did work in the past on the set up i have. ...lol!!

Any help here, will be very much appreciated....

Not absolutly sure Canoeboy, it could well have moved a little. As the dish and LNB has been in position during the time it hasn't been in use. I switched to Sky (got a 4m dish in the back garden) and was using a relatives address for subscriptions and things, but now they are changing from cable to Sky themselves. Seeing as i'm off overseas again fairly early in the new year, i'm putting the sky system under raps for the time being, and sort it out when i've finished working.

Anyway, I'll get a new one and see what happens. If still not working, ....I'll bite the bullet and get someone in to sort it out. The trouble is, ....is finding someone that knows what there doing over here!! ...haha!!

You get some pretty good channels coming out of Dubai which will do me for the time being....
