Anyone know anything about it?

Cable types, rules and regs. Thanks.

Wiring ferrys and sea going vessels etc.

Sorry I can't go into much detail, I have very little information about what is required for the job. I won't be working on it and I am asking on behalf of a friend.

Thanks.

loadsa loadsa different regs here tricky,

do you even know the earthing system for starters?

makes a massive difference.

is it actually a passenger going ferry? if so then your mate needs the relevant qualifications and this is probably the wrong place to be cos he should really know,

its pretty specialised stuff and even tho I done some marine,

passenger stuff is way way different.

marine regs as a whole cover so many different types of vessel its hard to define.

passenger carrying, oil rigs, freight/passenger, fishing boats. etc

bit like land based, commercial, domestic, industrial,, etc

Im sure you can see the comparisons.

; \I can see the comparisons mate, thanks for that.

As I say, I'm asking on behalf of a friend. seems it might be a bit more complex than he imagined..

Thanks again.

Marine wiring is sooooo different to land based wiring. The cable we used was braided and glands were non existant. the cables enter enclosures through rubber blocks that clamp the cable through bulkheads etc. Interesting stuff but very different.
