I was reading that, just the other day. I stored in my favourites too.

Many Thanks for posting it EXT.

I need to get the voltage testing kit.

I also fancy a nice multi-meter too. I'll ask Santa, Maybe?

:D

I suppose not having a lock off, one could simply remove the live feed to the MCB..

B)

yeah i have the 2nd picture of a lock kit which i use with a padlock as well vary good bit of kit also u have 2 use ur screwdriver to make a tight connection on the mcb.

Hello Sparky999, Welcome to the forum, Mate.

hi

so the question is.....

let's say you are doing a minor works job-

would you lock off the main switch OR the circuit breaker to comply with isolation regulations?

I think it would be good to state the "TEXT BOOK" Safe Isolation proceedure too.

Who's going to have a bash then?

Regards,

Admin.

I would Isolate the MCB. and leave the Main switch then.

And after all my safety checks, to prove the circuit is dead and no borrowed neuts etc - then I would proceed .

yes but you cannot check for a robbed neutral except by splitting them- all very dodgy.

there is an official answer in chapter 53(17th ed) and an unofficial answer- of which you may be surprised!

time to start reading then... :(

Oh, I will have a look after a good night's sleep doc. :(

I am supposed to be doing college work. :|

Having said that - I will probably end up pulling the Regs book out to have another look later.

I have to pop out on an erron (sp?) for SWMBO, soon.

:(
