Hi all

Got my new megger mft1552 the other day. Nice bit of kit.

Question is when doing an insulation resistance test @500Mohm test results come back as >299. Is this the highest reading given by the 1552?

Have used other testers that give readings of >999 or >1000

Many thanks

Stu

In simple terms, yes !!

Welsh we have both the 1652 and 1653 for testing practicals in college, I would consider the 1653 any old day of the week because of the fact that you can use it on 3 phase supplies and you can also download your test results onto a pc based program. I have done it using easycert and makes a world of difference.

I like the Fluke 1652.It is on my Wish list. :(
deffo has to be the 1653 wiz,

even if you say you dont do 3 ph it only takes the once.

im not really into all the fancy download bits and watnots myself, but its deffo worth the little extra for the versatility it gives you.

and its a bit more futureproof.

as for Mrs wiz, well send her round to see hercules, that'll get her in a good mood, :^O :^O:^O

either that or she'll just be grateful to have you. !!! B)B)B)

Naturally. :p

I am not into all this download lark either.

I am looking at specialising in Domestics, Personally. Who knows though, I may do industrial & Commercial in the future too?

there are such as thing as 3ph houses too mind.

I actually wired one a couple of years back, prefab concrete, every thing electric, underfloor heating, the works.

3phase TT supply.!!!

great job, and house looked really good, modern future ish design.

if you can stretch that little bit extra for the 1653 then Id really recommend it,

or what about some of the metrel testers?

Ive used them in the past and deffo would recommend them as excellent value for money. :)

Glad to hear it EXT.What curry did you have?

Indian, Chinese, Thai?
Indian (Don't do Chinese.. :_| )..
