Hello All

Please try and help.

I have an old Fuse Box I want to have replaced professionally with a new Consumer Unit.

It has 1 x 15a for the Immersion Heater and 2 x 5a and 2 x 30a.

Will 1 x 30a be for the upstairs sockets and 1 x 30a be for the downstairs sockets and

will 1 x 5a be for the upstairs lighting and 1 x 5a be for the downstairs lighting circuits.

Which fuse will the Cooker circuit be on?

Thank you.

Mark.

If you only have two 30A fuses, chances are ALL the sockets are on one fuse.

Chances are some upgrading and additions to your wiring would be a good idea as well as a new CU.

The electrician that comes to price the job should be able to advise you.

It's also extremely likely water and gas earth bonding will need to be installed, and it would not be surprising to find a few faults with the existing wiring that need correcting as well.
