Chippy mate has salvaged a pc from work that they were throwing out. All quite legit. Brought it to me to give the Linux treatment for use as a second pc. The reason it doesn't work is somebody has kicked or otherwise stoved in the 15-pin VGA connector on the back! I've tried repairing it with a 99p pcb VGA connector off the bay but no joy. Obviously I can't enter the BIOS anyway without the onboard graphics to even use an expansion card. The mobo is one of these:
Figuring to just buy a working cheapo mobo off the bay and take a punt on it - there appear to be a few for as low as £10-15. Don't want to pay much more. Would rather it came intact so no messing with cpu etc. Would appreciate a kind soul who knows about these things taking a quick look if they would and pointing me in the direction of something suitable!
Cheers!
