Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I couldn't see a forum for doorbells. Anyway my question is, Nest states:

If your transformer is labeled anywhere from 12 to 24 Volts AC and 8 VA in Europe (or from 16 to 24 Volts AC and 10 VA in North America): Your doorbell should be compatible with Nest Hello.

If there’s no label, if it’s labeled below 12 Volts (in Europe) or 16 Volts (in North America), or if it's labeled over 24 Volts: Contact an electrician or a local Nest Pro to upgrade your transformer so it can work with Nest Hello.

I have a door chime that is wired and battery, but think the battery is just for backup. Transformer is Crabtree 301/B8

Uprim 240VAC

Usec 8VAC

8VA

...is this compatible?

Thanks in advance

Nick

OK so Usec needs to be 12 to 24?

Building is 11years old so you think if I change transformer wiring will be OK or couldn't you say?

Thanks again

If the wiring was working ok with no problems at 8v..

Using the same wiring for a 12v or 24v supply shouldn't present any problems..
