Kercher , don't ypu start me on bloody plasterers ... I camt wven typr pripper , they pi$$ me off that much and its because everyone jumps to please them. As you say , I've had it a milliopn times , bloody bleeding plisterer has got no work ,rings the builder , "I can start earlier on your job" " OK pal I'll just crack the whip at the Sparks to get his finger out " GGGRRRRRrrrrrrrr !!!!!
Back to your post, I used to have a list of regular customers , mostly in the printing trade and between them they kept me busy. Unfortunately , one by one , they've nearly all gone bust. Just two left now one printer and a large law training company with own print works and offices.
And both have reduced their spend budgets to essential stuff only . So I have two builders and a chippy who use me and the rest is house bashing :_|
When I look back , times were different , we had some good customers and took on quite large jobs with Barclay's Bank, hospitals , West Mids Police, West Mids Probation Service, Schools , Birmingham City Council, University of Aston .
And we nearly always opted to be employed direct by the client to avoid being a sub contractor to the gangsters ..oops sorry...builders ...not always possible though.
The bank was a good customer , we did full refurbs and we were on the secure list so a branch could phone us for small jobs , power loss , re-lamping .
