Newbie here!!

I'm about to have my solar / battery system installed

Spec
17 x 420w Jinko Neo Tiger 7.2kw (2 x strings)
Giv energy 5kw Gen Hybrid Inverter
9.5kw Giv energy battery
Eddi water heat (not final on this)
Standard 3.6kw grid limit

Cost - £13.5k

Est annual output 5800 kw

I have a south facing roof with 10% shading, a new VW Id3 EV with Indra Smart Pro charger (sits on the drive 5 days a week) elec oven, gas hob and gas CH

Est annual elec usage 6000 kw (3000 EV, 3000 house)

Seems a lot of people with EV's are going with Octopus Go or Intelligent with EV's, though the later I've heard presents some challenges for those with batteries.

My installer actually modelled things on Octopus Flux, with around 50% export, 25% use and 25% on the battery.

I'd be interested to hear what views people have on the best tariff to go with. Flux seems very tempting in the summer due to the 23 / 36p export. So thinking maybe Flux in the summer and then onto Go in the darker months when export opportunities are lower, though not sure if regular switching is permitted.

I've actually ordered the Eddi water heater, but for an extra £700 I'm wondered if its worth it now if Flux is best option...

Locked to prevent being resurrected (again)
