I installed an IP66 outdoor socket on the wall of my garage (outdoor side), to supply the water pump for the garden vegetables.

This socket it's powered on/off by a wall mounted switch, IP44, installed inside the garage, so the socket is normally powered off.

Checked, all works well as intended, so far so good.😃

Issue is, the switch has a little red LED on its front, to indicate the status. This LED is always off. Although everything else works good.🙄

What did I do wrong and how to fix it?🧐

Thanks,

More details of the switch?  Single or double pole? Current rating?

It could be as simple as it's faulty, or the tiny little wire to the neon bulb has got pulled out.
