That is the idea. Whether you save money in the long term depends on whether your installation can perform Automatic Disconnection of Supply and Additional Protection in the required times to save life and property I suppose.

I believe so, but it's probably 15 years since I used one ( a phone box that is ).

I like the idea of an off grid system, I don't like the idea of Bob the builder installing one!
