Hi,

Ive got to go and look at a job in the near future where the customer wants a pond feature installed.

TBH I havent dealt with these before and wanted a few pointers if you dont mind.

I was going to spur off the ring (RCD protected) to an IP rated FCU with socket for outside power. (wired from the ring in 2.5mm T&E to outside FCU) then from FCU in armoured to switch controlling pond feature.

What cable is used from the switch to the feature?

The customer also wants some outside lights put up. Would it be best to come from the lighting circuit for these or from the fcu?

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers

All depends on the job, the lighting could be taken from anywhere convenent, do whatever you want. The cable from the FCU to the pond feature depends on the pond feature and the route and proximity of FCU and feature.
