hello chaps,

just a fem more questions Re. pond supply

the customer has one of these http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rmproducts.co.uk/communities/9/004/006/917/959/images/4525447701.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.rmproducts.co.uk/page/4533162275&usg=__2jUif8_dM4bckHybGt9ucCf34ww=&h=336&w=448&sz=60&hl=en&start=20&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=YO7OJw5NpgYHgM:&tbnh=95&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpond%2Bswitch%2Bbox%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1

has any one fitted one? can i termiate swa into it? would you use 2 or 3 core?

the swa will be fed from a spur from ring (right git to get a new feed in from the cu, and customer does not want the house ripped apart) and will be run across the bottom of the house as there is a path all around the house, is this ok?

any advise most welcome :D

oh yes, one more thing, the 'pond' is a standing wooden thing (not a dug in pond) and the switch unit will run a pump and led light things.

Hi Paul, moved on from sheds then:)

It looks like this is designed for flex with those stuffing glands, but no doubt one of them could be replaced with a SWA gland.

It would be best to run to it from the house in SWA and maybe take flex out to his equipment if its close by.

Hello paul..

answer #1 Yes I have worked on these (or similar before)

answer #2 SWA.. ???

I would evaluate that based on the actual environment where it is been installed...

I have in the past had flex up a bit of PVC conduit..

rigid then flexible!

REMEMBER...

the outputs are typically..

a pond pump (which comes with a pre molded rubber flex.. NOT SWA)

a pond filter (which also comes with a pre molded rubber flex.. NOT SWA)

SO

if rubber flex is OK going out from the control box location....

Maybe flex is ok coming INTO the control box location?

power consumption is not big!

If you want to put SWA into it... IMHO there should be room for a 20mm gland termination!

:) :DGuinness

I'v used similar switchs but had to use a bush and galv coupler, yours do look better tho!

I still try to keep switchs inside as well just a bit less for water etc to get into.
