Hi all,i have got to split a consumer unit in a pub so that upstairs and downstairs are on seperate meters / bills. Firstly ,the supplier will have to come and fit another meter! Is there any thing i can fit so as not to require supllier visit? From what i can see it would be cheaper to rewire upstairs instead of tracing circuits.

Any other advice would be most welcome

Thanks Rob

you could install a meter yourself, so downstairs would charge upstairs for leccy used (or up charge down).

but all thats assuming supply is adequate for both properties

Surely you could trace upstairs circuits and if any of them include downstairs ,you'd just have to divide those. End up with two C/Us and 2 sets of meter tails ,then its out of your hands .

also

landlord requires two meters for business tax reasons, she is getting stung for lots of money.

Don't forget that all the work will come under Part P if on a single supply.

thanks all, where can i get a meter from and info on them

thanks rob
Get in touch with megger mark, from a recent thread I do believe he said he did a full range of meters, and reasonable pricing I do believe.
