Hi, if installing new wiring for a central heating system does it require RCD protection say from a RCD fused spur if the CU is not RCD'd and wired on surface trunking?

what is the zs like? if it aint great i would stick one in for added protection.

Yes. RCD protection required.

No. RCD protection not required.
