Hey guys, I’m looking to remove the coaxial cable from this tv aerial, any idea on how to do this? As you can see, the connection is surrounded and held in place by a plastic housing. I’ve tried twisting and pulling...only to a point as I don’t want to break anything. I will be cabletying an amp to the aerial and connecting them together with a short coaxial. Then I will be connecting the existing 10 foot cable from the amp to the tv in my cabin.

Just cut the cable half way down the mast and connect your amplifier there.

Why do you suddenly want an amp anyway? Have you measured the signal levels and bit error rates to justify it? Many amps are fitted unnecessarily and cause overloading problems.
