A circuit has a resistance of 20ohms and an inductive reactance of 15ohms when connected to an a.c. supply.the impedance of the circuit is ?.

how can i work this out.help needed.cheers.

z=sqrt(r sqrd+y sqrd)

ie in this case

z=sqrt (400+225)=sqrt(625)=25 ohms
