My satelite experience only extends to aligning a couple of dishes and running single coaxes to a single tuner, however on a rewire I'm currently working on the client has decided he wants the facility to have satelite to about 7 pints in the house and wants as mch as possible (not a huge budget though ) to future proof it. So I'm thinking that I want the twin style coax to each room to allow for dual tuners? But can this be wired back to a switch/hub in the loft or do I need an LNB output for each core??

Any advice or guidance is welcom as my knowledge is limited :Blushing

Or you could go for an Octo (8 ports), the likelyhood of wanting dual LNB to each room is slim, 2x (watch/record) to the main room and one to each 6 rooms

An advantage over the distribution box is that every can watch what they want, however Sky boxes in each room can get get a bit costly, FreeSat ready TV's is another option for the other rooms

With FreeView HD rolling out it might swing back to favouring the distribution box route, in a nutshell many options but the subscription costs may be the decider

Not heard of this?? is it through an aerial??

He has told me he won't be getting sky so will be Freesat HD for 3 reception rooms plus 4 of the bedrooms will be needing feeds.

To be honest I'm not 100% sure when I'll actually be installing any dish/distribution gear, but I will need to get the coax in within a week so if I run dual coax from a convenient point in the loft to each room I should have it covered?? ?:|

if u put in 2 decent runs of sat grade coax to each room then u will have covered most senerios. perhaps 3 in the main room wouldnt be a bad thing for what it costs

FreeView HD is being broadcast on certain transmitters, Crystal Palace for example, Panasonic and Sony's latest TV support it, over the next year it will expand as the switch over progresses
