A client in requesting additional solar pv panels now after having their roof re-roofed. as the first install was carried out when the government scheme grant was happening (a couple of yr's back)how would this now work. would the client need a complete new pv system with a new generation meter etc....??? headbangheadbang or could a new inverter be installed to handle both strings etc...

thanks...

Concur.

If the existing install is altered, it has to be decommissioned and then recommissioned with different parameters - which negates any existing FIT arrangement, as I understand it.

He`s better off with a completely separate system, subject to the G83 limits ( or G59, if applicable!)

how many extra panels?? chances are you can't get same panel anymore - progress! and you can't just add any old panels due to different voltages. Treat extras as separate system bearing in mind 16A limit, otherwise whole system gets current tariff. are you MCS registered Matt?

SMA1200 or micro-inverters, it is unlikely that the existing inverter can take the extra panels unless really oversized in the first place. Can you give us some details on the existing array ie inverter, panels, and string arrangment.

You're own company should be fully able to sort this out, so why the question?
