If a spur was taken from upstairs ring mains to fcu (3a) for a shaver socket in bathroom (upstairs ring on rcd side in cu) What tests need to be done

Thanks

As you're modifying an existing circuit rather than installing a new one a Minor Works Certificate should cover it so you need to prove CPC continuity, do your IR tests, prove polarity, carry out earth loop impedance test & test the RCD.

It may not be required by the certificate but you should satisfy yourself that the installation is earthed & bonded correctly.

With the IR test you only need to test from the fcu to shaver socket (new cable) or from the cu to shaver socket?

Thanks
