I have a three core SWA cable that was feeding a shed and has been cut short.I intend to join this and resupply from th Consumer unit. The Shed Dis Board will have its own RCD and earth stake.Which end should should the armour be earthed from and do I need to gap the sheath at the other end?

regards to all :)

the armour must be earthed at supply end by same earthing as at supply end. if your TTing at the shed, you will need to isolate the armour earth from your TT earth

It can be earthed at either end but better to earth at supply end

Earthing at the supply end only and providing a seperate earth via an earth rod for the shed consumers unit for example because the shed would usually be out of the equipotential zone would it still be advisable to do it this way if the house supply was T T
