Simple question for any 8 year old I imagine but.......

Just transferred wife's Sim card from ancient phone to slightly less ancient phone that used to be mine . 

The old style Nokia button phone , I think they are all much the same  ...so put wife's PAYGo  card in , all working , called it but now all calls are going straight to Voicemail  after two rings.  

Ploughed through the settings etc but can't see how to cancel Voice mail  ...anyone know how ?

try ringing voicemail and go through the settings there possibly?

From memory, with most providers you can switch on voicemail but cant turn it off, you have to call them for that.

call 1210

or 

Call 121 > option 4 > option 4 > option 3

I gave up but the missus persisted for about an hour  ploughing through the menu , un checked something and the incoming ringing returned to normal and stopped going to voicemail.    The voicemail logo is still on the home screen , can't get shut of that at all.

press and hold 1 or whichever button has the tape symbol ??

I think an  8 year old would struggle with a phone with buttons!
