Im looking for a cover of some sort that can go over a single or a twin socket to provent the public using or unplugging what ever is plugged in..... the public mainly being kids as its for an amusement ride..... something like this would be handy, http://www.babysecurity.co.uk/products/2506/Clippasafe-Socket-Safe-Electric-Socket-Cover-.html

but i would like one that is garenteed to be able to take a plugtop with the transformer built in,,,, you know the ones i mean.,... they can be huge sometimes.... just if anyone has used them or knows where to get them could you maybe point me in the correct direction, cheers

we did think about adapting the enclosure you are speaking about tlangdon12 and that could still be a possibility, the one in the link does look good and may be used,

Robin..... some handy stuff on there but the best one would be the "power protection seal" but the major down side is that it wouldnt be big/ deep enough to enclose a transformer plugtop.... but thatnks to you both for your input.

Just had a thought for you....

the enclosures like Tlangdon linked in for you normally have a multiway adaptor and extension lead in them with a standard BS1363 plug. So just get this (along with a padlock) and they take all sorts of transformers as they are quite big.

Then get a standard plug lockout which will fit over the extension lead to the enclosure and hey presto!

Erm, just out of interest is the socket already installed? have you thought about other options ie tx plug in adadptable box and SFCU? Dont think a remote switch is accepatable as might not comply in case of an accident and needing to turn off the kiddies ride in an emergency! Oh and will the ride stay there all of the time or is it a small one that might be moved on a regular basis?

That would be an idea yes,

The sockets are currently at high level to stop the kids geting to them but due to the renovations being done at the moment they want to tidey it all up as it doesnt look nice atal with the flex comming off the ride and up the wall.... and we are not really sure if they are moved around alot but they may be changed with new ones at any point and it would be made easier if they could just plug it in themselves..... remote switching would be an idea but as you say an emergency situation may arrise and H&S wouldnt be happy lol
