we're not like that here phil, but the forum was first set up to be a friendly place and the originator wanted that to stick and so far it has,  though at times it can be a bit rocky.

Phil,

Please stick around, we have Admin3 here as a leveller, she has no friends, no enemies, and has nothing to do with the forum other than moderation.

Her job is to try to be level headed, (as much as a Woman can be!  ) & to apply a consistent moderation approach, as she knows nothing about electrical stuff.

Your post must have touched a nerve with her about something that she has been asked to keep an eye on.

Please don't take it to heart, some of our very long standing members have been warned & even banned, whilst they probably don't agree with it, we hope that they can understand why, this is one of the reasons we brought an outsider like Ad3 in to have an overview on these things.

I am inclined to think that Binky's evaluation could be a valid contributory point in this instance. Posts relating to public figures mentioned by name if worded in a potentially defamatory way could set poor bench mark standard on the forum that can easily get out of hand. I don't think Phil's comments were anywhere near the top of the league table of bad posts. This is reflected in the low warning points applied and how quickly it will expire. But it was sufficient to note a warning and as has been pointed out the forum aims to adopt a level standard for everyone who posts, no matter what their post count is be it single digits or 5 digits. Warnings or bans will be issued to anyone who steps over the line too far. 

Phil, I am sure your post was intended in a light hearted way and if we were a private forum I think a lot of members would take it as you intended. But as all our posts are public I am sure you can see Admins point about its relevance and suitability to the forum.  Not forgetting of course that most of the time the forum is self moderating with other members reporting posts they consider offensive for Mods & Admin to implement warnings if needed.
