But lets face it, most present day domestic CU's have plenty of bits a wandering finger can get a belt, i.e. the busbar with a poxy plastic cover over it.
At £50 a pop, you would need to be damned determined to go down that route rather than a new CU

Looking at these old boards ....yet never a downstream isolator ....those boards would be connected direct to the meter , to which we are not supposed to access.
Even today its the exception to find an isolator .

Makes me glad I've got a Crabtree C50 board in the place I live in.....
Concessions to safety/convenience being an upfront RCD and REC2. Not so convenient when something trips!
I am intending moving and replacing the board. Been saying that for 18 years!

We are all the same I think ...a plumber's tap always drips. There,s no earth on my lighting , (except the kitchen extension) I' don't think it will ever get upgraded TBH .

I've actually bought C50s from here before. Wonder if they have any Dorman Smith RCBO modules? Not so cheap upgrade for that board @Evans Electric ?

From memory, the exploded diagram we were given at college of a breaker showing its different states, is a C50.

Don't think so...just a bimetallic strip in there and trip coil isn't it?
