I have a storage heater that continues to heat up during the night and remains on during the day even when it is switched off at the control switch. Can anyone please explain my problem.

Hi and welcome to the forum.these heaters work by storing the heat over night using the cheaper rate electricity, and gradually discharging the heat during the next day, so you have to be a bit of a weather forcaster with them. The only way to stop them giving out heat in the day is to switch them off the evening before.

Should this be in the storage heater sub forum?

How do you mean by 'on'? Hot or a light on etc?

It it just a storage heater or does it have a convector heater built in? If it has a convector heater then this half should be live all the time.

You are on an economy 7 tariff?

Hello vimridge welcome to the forum. If it is a storage heater it is doing what it should do. If you don't want it on as it is getting warmer you can switch the input control down then it won't take a charge or as others have said switch it off but it will take a few days to totally go cold.
